The Act of the Slovak National Council no. 4/1958 on Folk Art Production and Artistic Crafts marks the beginning, in 1959, of the award of the title of Master of Folk Art Production (MFAP) to the best producers in the field of traditional crafts. On the occasion of the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of its foundation, ÚĽUV devoted the exhibition “Simply Masters” in Bratislava’s ÚĽUV Gallery to the symbolic eighty last masters who received awards between 2011 and 2024. It is an homage to past and present masters, whose work draws together the thread of continuity for traditional craft in Slovakia.
