He studied at the School of Applied Arts in Bratislava, specializing in Woodcarving. He continued his studies at the Design Department of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava in the Industrial Design Studio of Assoc. Prof. Ferdinand Chrenko. In 2003, he completed his master’s degree in Applied Arts. He has participated in several exhibitions and competitions not only in Slovakia (2000 Water Circles, Forma 2000) but also in Germany (Bugatti, Berlin, 2001) and in France (St. Étienne Biennial, 1998, 2000, and 2002). Tomáš Brichta’s work is characterized by design, toy manufacturing, and musical instrument production. In 2000, he won first place in the open category of the Water Circles competition with his design of the Niner 2000 musical instrument.
