She learned handcrafting from her mother since childhood. Initially, it was needles and a hook – at the age of 9, she knitted her first scarf as a gift for her father at Christmas. Another handcraft that her mother introduced her to was embroidery. The first technique she mastered was cross-stitch, followed by pre-drawn embroidery and Richelieu. Later, as a mother of two sons, she delved into other embroidery techniques. She completed a course in Dubnica embroidery organized by the Dubnica Museum under the guidance of lecturer M. Backova, as well as an accredited course in embroidery with a curved needle at the Crafts Center in Bratislava led by lecturer A. Hluchanova. She also participated in several other courses at the Regional Crafts Center in Banská Bystrica – bobbin lace course and folk costume production course.

In addition to embroidery, another great passion of hers is decorating gingerbread cookies with royal icing. She has been decorating since 1996, baking her first gingerbread cookies for her eldest son’s first Christmas and decorating them for subsequent holidays. In the past few years, she has also been decorating Easter eggs using the wax technique.

All these hand crafts are her hobbies, which she pursues alongside her job. Since 2018, she has been creating under the brand HARASKA, making hand-embroidered clothing, accessories, and traditional costume parts. She sews all the products herself. As a former folklorist, she draws inspiration mainly from traditional patterns.
