Monika Kunová was born in Sered. In her home environment, she saw her grandmother embroidering and admired her works from earlier times. This is where her love for embroidery and handcrafts was born. Despite having minimal embroidery classes in school, she continued to learn and improve her skills mostly on her own. She sourced ideas and techniques from magazines focused on embroidery that were available at that time. Over the years, she honed her skills by collaborating with a folk embroidery cooperative and later with the Slovak Craftsmen Association. Her passion for embroidery continues to drive her forward, and she now dedicates her time to creating intricate embroideries for churches and clothing items for priests as a part of her charitable work.
