He learned the basics of pottery and jug making in his father Marian Liška’s workshop in his childhood. From studying at the ŠUV Jozef Vydra, VŠVU in Bratislava, and the University of Plymouth, he, along with his colleagues, is dedicated to designing and producing utility products for tableware in majolica and stoneware. He has been actively producing since 2010.

The company modranska is engaged in the creation of handmade utility ceramics, mainly modranska majolica and stoneware. In collaboration with craftsmen and designers from all over Slovakia, they revive traditional shapes and patterns, come up with new designs, and create original, modern ceramics preserving the traditions and beauty of old pottery.

“The biggest piece of work, however, is created within our team. We are proud to collaborate with excellent craftsmen and designers whose quality has been recognized with several national design awards, awards for the best potters in the former Czechoslovakia, as well as in competitions and exhibitions worldwide.”
