He began to dedicate himself to carving, especially after his health was affected by work in the mine. By carving shepherd and highwayman motifs, he fulfilled his boyhood dream. His sculptures are characterized by stylish simplicity, symmetrical shapes, and precise lines. He also specializes in making shepherd’s utensils, especially ladles with figurative handle shapes. He collaborated with the Center for Folk Art Production (ÚĽUV) for several years. In 2000, he obtained a certificate recognizing his qualification as a master of folk art production in the field of woodcraft – ladles and sculptures, issued by the Commission for Assessing the Professional Competence of Folk Art Workers.
