For many years, he worked as a carpenter and joiner in Handlová mine. He started devoting himself more systematically to folk art in 1980. From the beginning, he was fascinated by shepherd’s ware and folk musical instruments. His production assortment includes axes, Upper Nitra well-buckets, including rare spruce ones, smaller water dippers, salt cellars, cheese and butter molds, razor strops, whips with decorated handles, and sticks, which he mainly makes from pear, apple, or ash wood, but also belts and slingshots. He also crafts folk musical instruments such as multi-voice fujaras, single-voice fujara trumpets, and various types of whistles, made of beech and maple wood. “Master of three crafts” Jozef Lenhart considers him one of his best students. His heartfelt connection to folk art is also confirmed by his performances in the local folk group Hájiček, where he sings and plays the fujara, and for which he has crafted numerous traditional props.
