When she was young, mesmerized by watching girls and women dressed in traditional hillside attire dominated by white tulle lace at the church in Košariská, she certainly had no idea that one day she would be the one to contribute to its preservation. She learned the art of lace-making at the age of fifteen from her aunt Zuzana Hutyrová in Priepasné, who was a renowned master lace-maker. “Lace-making has been my passion since childhood. Even as a girl, I wanted to wear our traditional costume, but the post-war times did not allow me. Factories were being established, costumes were being stored away, and I started working at a children’s home. Although I made my wedding costume and even crocheted a lace trim for the first baby blanket, I fully returned to our lace-making at the beginning of the nineties,” recalls Anna Potúčková
