After retiring, she started focusing on making bedspreads using an old, nearly forgotten textile technique of joining – sewing or tying cords with threads into bedspreads of various shapes. Eva Prokopová uses various cord structures for bedspread production, produced by using different crochet techniques. She then attaches the cords to the canvas, on which she has sketched the layout of the bedspread motifs. She then joins the individual cords – sews and ties them with decorative stitches, similar to the technique used in lace or traditional bobbin lace making. Since she is connecting already made cords, she does not use bobbins, but a needle. This technique was used in the 18th and 19th centuries in Bardejov for the production of passementerie-lace products, described in his work on art monuments in Šariš by the Hungarian art historian, Bardejov native, and prominent collector of monuments, Karol Divald. In the collections of the Šariš Museum in Bardejov, there is an antependium from Giraltovce made in the 18th century, which is made precisely using this technique.
