Originally a turner by profession. Has an active relationship with the traditional music culture of the area, he played the accordion since childhood. The first bagpipes, not entirely successful, were made in 1987. The motivation for instrument making was his father-in-law Ján Ferneza, a bagpipe maker and a unique interpreter of the bagpipe music culture of Sihelné, who is also his greatest role model, alongside local makers Jozef Zboroň, Serafín Luscoň, and Jozef and Anton Jendreas. Following his father-in-law’s example, he experiments with plastic reeds. He has the hide on the bag made by Peter Pleviak. By 2004, he had made 7 instruments. The holder of the Instrumentum excellens award from the Competition of Folk Musical Instrument Makers at the FSP in Detva for bagpipes (2003).
