Her parents came from Radvan. Her father was a gingerbread maker. Gingerbreads were baked at Bystrica markets. Here she learned to bake and decorate. She actively started production in 1960. She began supplying gingerbreads to ÚĽUV in 1977. Janka Suchálová’s gingerbreads were always made from perfectly processed dough. She baked and decorated various shapes – hearts, houses, trees, chickens, birds, stars, and others. In 1985, she received an award for recognition of qualification as a master of folk artistic production in the field of dough production, awarded by the Commission for Evaluating the Professional Qualifications of Folk Art Production Workers.
