Between 1927 and 1930, he apprenticed as a basket maker under J. Lunák from Šintava. In 1938, he became independent and established his own workshop. Later, he worked for the Basket Makers Cooperative in Sered and Uherske Hradiste. In 1951, he started working for the Center for Folk Art Production. In the field of basket making, he was one of the first producers of the Center for Folk Art Production whose products reached an excellent level. In 1966, he obtained a certificate recognizing his qualification as a master of folk art production in the field of basket making, awarded by the Commission for Assessing the Professional Competence of Workers in Folk Art Production.
