The root pot is hand-thrown on a potter’s wheel of bulbous shape with a spout, once fired, coated with white opaque glaze, into which a geometric or floral colored (monochrome) decoration is painted – various variations, second time fired in an electric ceramic kiln.
Vlastimil Havlíček trained at the Majolika Modra School of Applied Arts, where he worked for some time. In the 1980s, he became independent and worked for the ULUV (Center for Folk Art Production) as a majolica maker.
