The brooch made of 100% wool felt with embroidered pattern is part of a wider collection of felted products “PEŠKY”. The collection was created as part of the joint project “Costume as inspiration”, organized by the Regional Innovation and Implementation Agency based in Piešťany, along with the Workshop of Folk Traditions and Crafts in Uherský Ostroh and the Center of Folk Art Production.

“The brooch is decorated with delicate monochromatic embroidery inspired by traditional folk patterns from the Piešťany region. Its dominant motif is the grape and meticulously embroidered holes, which were an indispensable part of decorating sleeves and aprons in the past. This minimalist felt jewelry combines respect for traditional craftsmanship and modern design.” The minimally processed ornament stands out thanks to the contrast of surfaces and highlights the beauty of the original pattern. The color scheme (white, yellow, blue) reflects the traditional palette of costumes from the Piešťany region. These small jewelry pieces were created in the spirit of sustainability as a by-product in the production of felt slippers, thus making meaningful use of every piece of material.
