The bonnet is sewn from 6 rectangles of canvas, which are sewn together with narrow tape and connecting stitches. The top part is gathered and sewn to a small cardboard rectangle. The front part of the bonnet, which is made of thicker canvas, is embroidered with wool yarn, using stitches such as backstitch, stem stitch, chain stitch, and loop stitch. A red and white fabric is incorporated into the embroidery.
