Woven ribbon on a tablet. The warp is linen yarn and the weft is wool. Ribbons were used to decorate sleeves, sewn onto skirts, aprons, blouses, tents, and men’s shirts. For their strength, they were also used in agriculture to tie sacks, as straps, and the like.
