Woven ribbon made on a loom from cotton threads in a plain weave. The purple weft thread is double interlaced. Ribbons were used to decorate sleeves, sewn onto skirts, aprons, shirts, tablecloths, and men’s shirts. They were also used for their strength in agriculture to tie sacks, as straps, and similar items.
