Shepherd’s wooden drinking vessel, body of simple cylindrical shape with inset base. At the top edge of the vessel, there is a massive, intricately carved handle, attached to the lower part by a circumferential brass strip with embossed wave motifs. The handle is decoratively profiled with semicircular cutouts, topped with a carved knob and archways, decorated with carved ornamental plant motifs. The vessel’s body is cracked in the area opposite the handle from the top edge to the bottom.
He grew up in the Upper Nitra village of Jalovec and remained connected to this environment throughout his life. Wood had a scent for him from childhood. His father could make everything for the farm, and during the winter months he wove loom baskets...
