A batiste scarf has lace sewn at the ends, which is not lace in the true sense of the word. It is an eyelet embroidery on the reverse side, with a serrated edge. The scarf itself is embroidered with eyelet and solid embroidery. Bird motifs are embroidered in chain stitch. Ties were sewn to one edge of the scarf, which were used to tie the scarf on the head.
