The use of the textile is unknown. The embroidered part may come from a long scarf or shawl. The embroidery is pre-drawn, some motifs are cut out. Mostly used are satin stitch and stem stitch. The embroidery is sewn with unsized silk. On the reverse side, a piece of canvas with a name written in probably black ink is stitched: Hollósy Mária 45.
