About product
Thrown on a potter’s (turning) wheel, the rim carved with a knife or with square-shaped punches in multiple rows, the periphery trimmed into arcs. Once fired, the shard is coated with white opaque glaze, onto which a majolica single-colored (or color-outlined) floral motif is painted on the plate’s bottom, with lines drawn along the plate’s edge in between the squares forming a grid. The bottom and edge are circled with one or two lines. It is fired a second time in a pottery kiln. Various decor variations.
