The mug is hand thrown on a potter’s wheel, the handle attached with slip, fired once, coated with a white covering glaze, decorated with a small geometric design painted with majolica colors – various variations, fired a second time in an electric ceramic kiln.
Vlastimil Havlíček trained at the Majolika Modra School of Applied Arts, where he worked for some time. In the 1980s, he became independent and worked for the ULUV (Center for Folk Art Production) as a majolica maker.
