About product

Tall pitcher for milk of cylindrical shape, commonly known as a milk jug. It is made according to traditional patterns of pottery production from the Gemer region. Hand-thrown on a potter’s wheel from white clay. The section below the neck is decorated with painted band decoration, consisting of lines and swirls of various thicknesses, from dark brown and reddish-brown clay. The decoration is dominated by a thick band of reddish-brown line, over which a semi-transparent white large-area swirl is painted. The interior is glazed with transparent glaze, while the neck and handle are glazed with green glaze on the exterior. The larger part of the vessel is unglazed on the outside.
