About product

Pitcher with a narrow neck and handle, commonly known as a “cepek.” The narrow neck protects against the influx of warm air and keeps the liquid cooler for longer. Made according to traditional models of pottery production from the Gemer region. Hand-thrown on a potter’s wheel from white clay. The section below the neck is decorated with a painted band decoration composed of lines and waves of various thicknesses, made from dark brown and reddish-brown clay. The decoration is dominated by a thick band of reddish-brown lines, interspersed with an interrupted pattern. The interior is glazed with a transparent glaze, while the neck and handle are glazed in green on the outside. The majority of the vessel’s exterior is unglazed.
