About product

The product was created as part of the project “Folk costume as inspiration” under the auspices of the non-profit organization KIRA in cooperation with ÚĽUV. The aim of the project is to show that folk costume is not just a historical artifact, but a living source of identity, pride, and creative inspiration.

The design was created by textile designer Kamila Zuščáková, with the embroidery inspired by a fragment from the vest that is part of the folk costume. Selected elements were drawn in lines and arranged into a simple repetition. The pattern is based on a floral motif, which is most commonly found in embroidery from the surroundings of Piešťany. The simple composition moves the pattern into contemporary design in the traditional execution of smooth embroidery.

The embroidery was made by the master ĽUV Vlasta Žiaranová.

The product is intended to be worn around the neck – as a scarf, but can also be used as a hair scarf.
