They are made of two types of fabric, the main part from linen, and the sleeves likely from a linen-cotton blend. The cuffs and collar are woven with red cotton thread. The embroidery on the front panel and sleeve ends is reinforced with a thicker cotton thread. The embroidery is also secured with a thick linen thread. A gathered thicker cotton lace from a factory is sewn to the lower edge of the cuff. The sleeves are hand-sewn.
