Stoneware container – for sugar, Collection “Kavej”
Stoneware sugar container with lid, hand-turned. Glaze is used as a surface treatment and then fired for imprinting. The design was created by Mgr.art. Simona Duchoňová. The intention was to showcase folk craftsmanship in a fresh contemporary light. Creating a contrast between the handmade product and the text that serves as decoration. The artwork refers to the connection between contemporary design and craftsmanship.
She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava in the Industrial Design Studio under the guidance of Associate Professor Ferdinand Chrenko. She has participated in several domestic and international exhibitions and competitions with her projects. In her work, she focuses on combining contemporary design with craftsmanship in order to complement each other
