The product is made of wood using the carving technique. The author combined the destructive power of fire with its beauty in burnt bowls and containers. After rough carving the bowls, he uses fire as an element that leaves its unique mark on the shape and color of the wood. He utilizes the contrast between the destructively burnt and cleanly, almost technically polished surface. The product’s surface is treated with beeswax and linseed oil, which fixate and polish the burnt surface.

The entire collection of burnt surface bowls won 2nd place in the Rings on the Water competition in 2000. It was also presented at the exhibition “10 Years of the Rings on the Water Design and Craft Competition” in 2009-2010 at Galleria Cvernovka in Bratislava.
