About product

The PEŠKY Slippers are a modern interpretation of traditional Slovak home footwear. The clean, slip-on design is inspired by historical “slippers” and connects craft heritage with contemporary minimalist design. 100% wool felt provides natural warmth, comfort, and functionality.

The double-layer upper decoration – a delicate monochromatic wool embroidery – draws from traditional embroideries from the surroundings of Piešťany, especially from sleeves and aprons with a typical grape motif and embroidered eyelets. The minimalistic ornament stands out due to the contrast of surfaces, highlighting the beauty of the original pattern. The color scheme (white, blue) reflects the traditional palette of costumes from the Piešťany region. The slippers carry the story of local tradition transformed into a modern form – they are designed for everyday wear in a home or spa environment, combining authentic expression with modern comfort.

Slippers made of 100% wool felt with embroidered patterns are part of the wider collection of felt products “PEŠKY”. The collection was created as part of the joint project Folk Costume as Inspiration, organized by the Regional Innovation and Implementation Agency based in Piešťany, along with the Workshop of Folk Traditions and Crafts in Uherský Ostroh and the Center of Folk Art Production.

The author of the conceptual design and embroidered patterns is Janka Motyčková, and the designer of the slipper shape is Soňa Sadilková. The manufacturer of the slippers is comp ART s.r.o. The embroidery is done by the master craftswoman from the Center of Folk Art Production, Monika Kunová.
