In Line with Linen II.

The workshop “In Line with Linen II.” will take place from 14 to 16 June 2024 with the support of the House of Traditional Weaving in Kokava nad Rimavicou. It is a follow-up to last year’s event In Line with Linen, during which ÚĽUV in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava prepared lectures on linen, its cultivation, characteristics and processing. Participants wove different combinations of linen with other natural materials and experimented with weaves.

This year we are keeping up with the theme, building on the knowledge gained last year and using samples of linen fabrics made during Linen Variations.

Participants will explore the technological and artistic possibilities that linen offers. In addition to bringing together experienced artisans and designers, the aim of the event is to make woven linen fabrics using various weaving techniques, designing and making clothing accessories from these fabrics within the ÚĽUV Open Studio with the potential for small series production.
