Adriena Pekárová
At the turn of 2007 and 2008, the studio of creative textile work headed by prof. Eva Cisárová-Mináriková organised an exhibition of its work at the AFAD gallery. Since 1990, when she started to form her own concept of studio development, 36 students graduated from the studio. During that period, the studio attended around 20 exhibitions in various Slovak and Czech towns and its students were awarded prizes at various international and domestic textile competitions. In her teaching career, prof. Cisárová-Mináriková follows the mission of „…identification of multi-media creative expression linked to the purposeful study of art history and textile history – one of the oldest art and craft phenomena.“ It is a mission conducting research into the history of textile, traditional and contemporary textile techniques and materials and transforming such knowledge into creative work. The studio organises a historical textile conservation course attended by one third of students each year. All course participants are assigned a task of creating a copy of a historical textile according to own choice. The course teaches old textile techniques and helps to transform such knowledge into own creative work.
