Editorial board

M.A. Dana Kľučárová, PhD. was named the new general director of the ÚĽUV following the selection procedure announced for this position. Originally from the city of Košice, she received her diploma in ethnology and history at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra and is the graduate of ethnochoreology at the Institute of Musicology SAS. She has been active folklorist since her secondary school studies – as an artistic director in folk ensembles, an author of choreographies, a member in program boards of folklore festivals and a university teacher. She is the former director of the Stupava Cultural and Information Centre and the deputy director of the Folk art production museum in Stupava.

Her liking for traditional folk culture and the field of activity she is engaged in have influenced her family and what she does in her free time. She and her husband and two daughters are active in folk dances; they run a family and baby friendly folklore ensemble for adults and seek to revive local customs and traditions. They all wear folk costumes for the ceremonial services in church.

The general director has respect for the people who have devoted all their lives to the folk art production and participated in forming and preserving of the production in various forms until now. Thanks go to all the artisans, makers, artists and designers and their unique approaches who come with new and interesting expressions that bring innovations to tradition.
