Lucia Šlamiarová

Eva Horváth comes from the village of Seňa near Košice. She obtained her craft skills by studying a two-year accredited course at Hagyományok Háza in Budapest. Once she had passed her final exams and submitted her research dissertation, she became a producer of practical items made of straw, corns husks and reeds. She has been working in crafts for around fifteen years. Based on research material acquired in the Carpathian basin, participants in the course learnt various traditional forms and techniques for making practical items. Before her studies in Budapest, Eva Horváth attended a course in the production of traditional children’s toys made of natural materials in Sárospatak, Hungary. Today, she is not only a producer, but also a lector of courses at the School of Crafts. As an external employee, she carried out research for ÚĽUV on the processing of reeds, which she is still continuing.
