Since its beginnings, the Centre for Folk Art Production has tried to support folk art production and producers, so in 1959 it established the Qualification Committee which assessed the professional aptitude of folk producers according to set criteria. At present, the ,,Statute for Awarding the Title of Master of Folk Art Production”, issued by the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic in 2014 applies. A seven-member Committee for Awarding the Title of Master of Folk Art Production decides on the recipients of the awards following the suggestions of ÚĽUV specialist staff.
