The last decade was a period that elevated Slovak jewellery in not only domestic markets but also international ones. The creation of jewellery took on a new respect, and this is shown by the fact that jewellery, freely based on experimentation as well as tradition, is an area of unique artistic testimony reflecting the experience of contemporary mankind. These events are enlivened by the young generation of artists – graduates from the department of jewellery and metal S+M+L_XL at the University of Fine Arts in Bratislava since 1995. The discussion with the head of the studio, Doc. Akad. Arch. Karol Weisslechner, focuses on the topical themes of the position of jewellery creation and its relationship to the original tradition, as well as on individual creation.
