The ÚĽUV School of Crafts educational activities create a kind of bridge between the past and the present thus assisting the continuity in the development of folk art production and the passing on of the know how. Informal, leisure time, educational activities for the public have been systematically offered since 1999. Their main content are courses for children, youth and adults. In the interview with the director of the Regional Crafts Centre in Bratislava Oľga Fratričová we were discussing why the ÚĽUV School of Crafts was established and what mission it has in relation to the folk art production, why people seek crafts today, how they choose individual topics, contents and lecturers for individual courses, what are the requirements for a good lecturer, what are the attractions of informal education in the School of Crafts, who the courses are meant for, as well as the possibilities of further development of the know how acquired in the courses.
