The need to carry or store various goods inspired craftsmen and skilled individuals in their homes to produce objects serving a purpose. Weaving or twining was a technique used for making various objects from natural materials that grew close at hand and freely in the natural surroundings of these people. Thus baskets, straw plates, trays and measuring plates were invented. These products have been very frequent and well presented in collections fund of Slovak National Museum – Ethnographic Museum in Martin.
