In the book series entitled Traditions today (Tradícia dnes) by ÚĽUV, there is a new book coming out by a renowned author of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Arne B. Mann who has comprised his lifelong research into a valuable monograph. In this first ever publication of its kind the author offers a thorough look at the smithcraft of Romas in Slovakia in the context of Ethno-cultural development. He is reflecting specific elements (working process, products) as well as the social side of this craft and job – the status of Roma Blacksmiths among Romas as well as among non-Romas. The book is published in Slovak as well as in English and contains a rich photo material.
