In the Gallery Medium in Bratislava, EX CHANGE, an international collective exhibition of students of S+M+L_XL Metal and Jewel at the University of Fine Arts in Bratislava and students of the Fachhochschule Edelstein + Schmuckdesign Trier from Germany took place in October. Both jewel studios have been in strong contact since 1997, and they decided to present their long-term cooperation in the form of a mutual exhibition. The studios’ leaders are Professor Karol Weisslechner and Professor Theo Smeets. The jewels and objects were created during study stays on an exchange program. They represent a wide spectrum of individual author approaches by eleven students, graduates of jewel studios and their professors whose work is demonstrated by experimenting with classic and non-traditional materials and techniques in a unique way. Another similar exhibition will take place in German Idar-Oberstein.
