Bells making was a domestic craft and secondary job surviving in the mountains and surrounding regions that supported mountain sheep farming. Ján Kostúr (1919 –1992) founded bells making craft in the village of Podkonice. One-hundred-year old working tools have remained intact in the family workshop. Son Jaroslav Kostúr has inherited the craft. He has revived the craft as a free-time activity when his father died. Jaroslav Kostúr started the collaboration with the ÚĽUV in 1994 and was awarded the master of folk art production title in 2011. He makes tin bells that are adjusted to the requirements of herdsmen and contemporary demands for bells being gifts.
