Some time ago the RUD magazine published an interview with the young graphic designer Tomáš Kompaník about his book „AHA“ in which he has studied the theme of the Slovak embroidery in his own way. The book first appeared as his diploma work in the graphic design studio at Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín and had become one of the unusually appreciated students‘ projects. After two years of hard work the author was able to publish and ceremonially launch it in September 2014. The rendering of the book was technically demanding but not impossible. The book, as opposed to the diploma work, is slightly amended, improved, more structured, with slightly changed colours, compositions and re-written texts. An English translation has been added for foreign readers.
