Graduate of the Vocational School of Textile Industry in Ružomberok and Ethnography at the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University. For over thirty years from 1956, she worked at the Center of Folk Art Production as its leading creative worker specializing in textiles. She authored woven sets – tablecloths, bedspreads, carpets, woolen carpets, and scarfs. A part of her textile creation included collaboration with folk weavers. In contact with them, she adjusted her own creative intentions, the use of patterns, materials, and shapes. From a wide range of woven assortments, utility fabric as an element of interior design was close to her heart. During her time at the Center of Folk Art Production, a large quantity of fabrics, bedspreads, tablecloths, lunch and tea sets, economical tablecloths, and open sets were created. In designs from natural linen and cotton threads, she most often drew inspiration from traditional weaves of Slovak folk textiles. Unique was her creation of woolen textiles and scarfs, where she applied her creativity in sculptural compositions. She utilized the simple yet striking effect of weaving technique on form in her designs of carpets, bedspreads, and cushions, imbuing them with timelessness. Products created in Olga Koreňová’s design workshop were and still are key elements in the textile production program of the Center of Folk Art Production
