The bonnet made of cotton chiffon is embroidered with thicker cotton thread. A full stitch and eyelets are used, with a backstitch as a pattern complement. The headband is made of crocheted lace, also from cotton thread. Originally, the bonnet was smaller, and the brim was enlarged with a canvas overlay. The bonnet was originally hand-sewn, and the overlay is done by machine.
