Woven tape made on a loom from linen and cotton yarns woven in a plain weave. The tapes were used to decorate sleeves, sewn onto skirts, aprons, shirts, tents, and men’s shirts. For their strength, they were also used in agriculture to tie sacks, as straps, and the like.
