The publication “Whips” provides the reader with not only a brief history and characteristics, but also a detailed working procedure for making a shepherd’s whip. Shepherd’s whips in Slovakia were made by the users of the whips themselves – the shepherds. Therefore, in various regions of Slovakia, individual whips differed significantly, especially in the way the whip’s striking part was woven or the handle ornamentation. The author of the publication allows the reader, when making the whip, to use different weaving techniques, select from various decorative elements, and assemble the whip from different components according to their own imagination, which were present in Slovakia.
