The new series of publications in the edition Let’s Explore Crafts will allow children aged 9-12 to learn traditional craft techniques with the possibility of creating their own specific product. The authors selected craft techniques and home procedures for making products that children can handle, possibly with the help of older siblings or parents. The selected techniques can also be applied in the educational process in elementary schools, as each technique requires a maximum of two class hours to master. Exploring crafts also includes not only the specific steps to create an attractive product using old techniques. These traditional, old techniques are placed in the context of the era, with a description of their origin, material usage, and application in everyday life. The booklets are richly illustrated by the popular young illustrator with the artistic name Dreadka, Zuzana Krutá, who has made crafts and craft techniques attractive to children with engaging child-friendly illustrations. In addition to illustrations and large fonts, the booklet is also richly represented with photographs detailing the steps of each technique. The authors of this children’s edition chose attractive contemporary products for the first book in the Let’s Explore Crafts series, which can be made from materials available today with the help of current tools and aids.
