Wood, design and tradition
Wood, design and tradition
16,50 €
The publication was the result of many theoretical reflections and practical experiences of the author, a well-known Slovak designer and educator (currently an associate professor at the Department of Design at the Faculty of Arts of the Technical University in Košice). However, it is neither a technological manual nor an illustrated book about design or traditional wooden products. It is about the combination of wood, contemporary design, and tradition. The author integrates “experiences gained through many years of working with wood, studying and teaching design at several schools, relationship to old wooden utility objects, and traditional crafts” in it.
It includes an English summary.
Published by the Centre of Folk Art Production in Bratislava, a state-funded organization established by the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic, in 2012.
