Tradičný odev Slovenska

Garantom starostlivosti o zachovanie a obnovu tradičného odevu na Slovensku bolo od roku 1945 Ústredie ľudovej umeleckej výroby. Potreba zabezpečenia a zachovania technických podkladov na ušitie tradičného odevu – strihy, vzory výzdoby, popisy súčiastok, zmeny v nosení jednotlivých súčiastok – vyplývala z viacerých faktorov. Medzi najzásadnejšie patrili jednak potreby rozvíjajúcich sa folklórnych súborov, ktoré potrebovali na svoju činnosť tradičný odev ako javiskový kostým, a jednak krojová akcia, ktorá vznikla na pôde národopisnej sekcie Zemskej kultúrnej rady pri Zemskom národnom výbore v Brne.
